Questioning the methods at the time and experimenting with new approaches, Michael Chekov broke boundaries and unlocked many gates in the minds of actors as a teacher. Join us in a 6 hour session exploring and applying his techniques to develop a character for stage and film. Required: Prepare a 10-15 second piece of text from any play. All levels of acting experience are welcome. All experience levels welcome. Sanford Meisner is widely known for his repetition exercises, but why? What does repetition do for actors that constitute it as a training method? The elusive qualities of the Meisner techniques are that they are in search for engagement and communication, the lifeblood of acting. This session will be a safe space for participants to confront their ability to observe and attend to another actor. While some Meisner repetition exercises will be familiar, only the essence of attention will be the focus as they will be designed for your experience in the moment. All levels of acting experience are welcome. All experience levels welcome. Room details will be sent upon successful ticket purchase.
