Dear Friends, The Singapore Maritime Trails is one of MPA's signature outreach efforts aimed to let participants discover more about Singapore’s rich maritime stories through two different trails!  The series of Singapore Maritime Trails is conceptualised and organised by Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore as part of its outreach efforts. Join us for the Singapore Maritime Trails that tell us the story of the progress of Singapore’s maritime industry through a guided tour of old and new maritime landmarks.    Singapore Maritime Trail 1 launched on 12 April 2014, the first Trail focuses on Singapore’s Maritime Heritage. It traces the progress of Singapore’s maritime sector through a tour of local maritime heritage sites, such as Fort Canning and Boat Quay. Through location-based elements such as the Fort Canning Lighthouse, participants are taken from the time of the Singapura Kings to the establishment of Singapore as shipping and other maritime activities started around the mouth of the Singapore River and moved westwards to the Telok Ayer area and then out to the New Harbour of Keppel Harbour. These complimentary trails, run on the First Saturday of each month at the following time slots: 9.00am to 11.30am 3.00pm to 5.30pm The trails are open for registration and spaces are limited.   Pick up and meeting point: Swissotel, The Stamford. Hotel Lobby (at the corner near the escalator) Final drop off and ending point: Harbourfront Cruise Centre - Coach Bay Programme (locations in Blue are walking trails, the rest are landmarks along the bus route. Commentaries will be given on the bus) : 1.       Fort Canning Park - Maritime Corner @ Fort Canning (Fort Canning Lighthouse & Flagstaff) 2.       Robertson and Clarke Quay  3.       Singapore River  (Raffles Landing Site and Boat Quay) 4.       Fullerton Hotel Building 5.       Waterboat House 6.       Collyer Quay 7.       Telok Ayer Basin, Raffles Quay, old sea coastline 8.       Shenton Way to Keppel Road to Tanjong Pagar Terminal    A bus will be provided to facilitate movement between locations for the trail.  If you are interested in the complimentary guided tours of the Singapore Maritime Trails for yourself, family members and friends, please sign up for your preferred trail date today!
